Warsaw has risen to 18 th place in the European Cities
Monitor ranking.
Warsaw can expect the biggest influx of new companies over the next five years, with
50 of the 507 sampled companies expected to locate there, whether offices, manufacturing or sales outlets.
European Cities Monitor is based on interviews with senior managers and board directors in charge of location of 507 top European companies. It looks at factors regarded as important by companies when deciding where to locate, and then compares the performance of 33 of Europe’s leading business cities on each factor. Communication factors are seen as the most important, followed by cost and then quality of life.
This year Warsaw was placed on the 7th place in the category of availability of office space. In terms of value for money of office space the capital city was first. As the best city in terms of languages spoken, Warsaw moved from the 23rd place in 2005 to the 18th in 2006. Taking into consideration easy of traveling around within the city Warsaw has risen from the 25th to the 23rd place.

The position of Warsaw has not changed since last year in terms of cost of staff (1st place) and the climate government create for business (4th place).
London is the top rated city in 7 out of the 12 rankings, including access to markets, the availability of qualified staff, international transport links, internal transport links, telecommunications factors, availability of office space and for languages spoken.
