ToyotaToyota will build a new plant in the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone. The Japanese automaker plans to invest PLN 537 million in the project and employ 255 new workers.

Toyota obtained an investment permit at the end of 2006. The plant will be built by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP) and will manufacture gearboxes, engine parts and other automotive components. With the new investment, TMPP's production capacity will increase to 720,000 units annually.

The company will take advantage of last year's rules for regional aid, which allows maximum aid at the level of 50 percent of the investment value.

Toyota Plant

Toyota has two factories in Poland, in Wałbrzych and Jelcz-Laskowice (Lower Silesia). The factories produce gearboxes and diesel engines. So far the Japan company has invested EUR 600 million in Poland, and employs three thousand people.

According to Toyota spokesman Grzegorz Gorski, “The plans for the Polish Toyota plants are connected with introduction of new car models and the production cycle of the whole concern.”
