On February 20th in Warsaw a press conference took place, devoted to the subject of British – Polish trade. The British–Polish Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) presented the excellent results of last year’s co-operation between the two countries.
2006 was exceptional and also a record year for each side in the trade between Britain and Poland – said Martin Oxley the managing director of the BPCC.
2006 was a record year for British – Polish trade. In comparison to 2005, a growth in excess of 70% was noted for the trade on each side. No other trading partner of Britain noted a similar increase of trade over the same period.
The value of exports from Britain to Poland equalled 2.79 billion GPB, whilst in the previous year it had amounted to little more than 1.5 billion GPB. In the same period Poland advanced up to 17th in the rankings of Britain’s largest export markets, passing some of England’s traditional trading partners such as: India, Australia and South Africa.
The tendency of increasing growth in Polish
exports to Great Britain has also been
maintained.
